RIDE FOR THE BRAND
CHAMPIONSHIP RANCH RODEO
SATURDAY, AUGUST 20, 2016
The action starts Friday with a Longhorn Cattle Drive through downtown Colorado Springs.
The cattle drive starts at high noon and runs down Tejon Street from Cache La Poudre to Vermijo. Thousands of people line the streets to see this taste of our community’s western heritage.
Saturday, August 20th is our main event!
The 2016 Ride for the Brand Championship Ranch Rodeo at the Norris Penrose Event Center. We plan to fill the stands again this year with 3,500 fans to watch this WRCA sanctioned event, which is unique to Colorado Springs. Real working cowboys from throughout the region come here to compete in events that show off their skills and the outstanding horses they ride.
Proceeds benefit local military charities, WRCA Scholarship Fund & WRCA Crisis Fund
The Working Ranch Cowboys Ranch Rodeo is steeped in history and formed from the everyday realities of the cowboy life. Join teams from ranches across the country to compete in an evening of fun and tradition. These cowboys work all week on their ranches, sorting and moving cattle, starting colts, doctoring and branding calves—and they ride for the legendary brands that still represent the heart of America’s livestock industry today.
